Items: A silver medallion, a keepsake given from his mother .//APPEARANCE Nationality: Caucasian Height: 6’0 Weight: 198lb Build: Slightly slim, but muscular Typical Clothing: Mugen generally wears somewhat of a black t-shirt, and regular cloth-like pants to keep the whole black look on the Shinigami. Why he chose this kind of outlook? Well, his excuse that he could fight better without the baggy Shinigami uniform, but really, the baggy didn’t suit him. He still has his sandals despite all the change he made. However, he did make one more customization to his so-called uniform. He made his own Captain Haori into a long two tailed jacket of sorts, he still said the excuse for this however, but we all know the truth. Don’t we? .//PERSONALITY Mugen is to be perfectly blunt, a pretty lively guy. He’s always the type to be socially around people, easy to make friends with and the guy just knows how to have a good time and keep on smiling. It’s almost an utter shock and baffling that he is a respectable Captain for Soul Society. He is pretty courageous, likes to talk big in the usual everyday manner, and it’s almost impossible for him to be serious, even in battle sometimes, which had led Mugen into some trouble with some certain people more than one occasion. Still, there more than just this surface to him, even though he does talk a big game, he’s sometimes pretty conflicted on whether if he’s doing the right and so on, he is a true seeker of truth and having some sense of justice. He does have a streak though, of getting himself into trouble, he kindly welcomes it most of time, but really most of the time they just happen to him. He’s also a bit childish, cynical, and sarcastic (even a bit flirty on some ladies) on a few things, like around his brother, someone Mugen truly knows or just about everyone, but you can count on him when times are tough and he’ll be there to help at any cost. Don’t let his outward appearance fool you, at all. He’s a true fighter of the sword and he will prove it to you through his might and swordsmanship he possesses. Mugen is also not shy of him only just using his Zanpakutou, no, if a new toy interests him he would want to use it, like a kid in a video game store. In battle or not, he tries his best at not make any enemies to try to give that person just a chance, even if he was ordered to kill. However, if the chance to walk away can’t be avoided or there is just great reason on why that enemy should vanish, you will vanish from his sights as soon as possible. What I said about him being conflicted before isn’t just a simple thing. He suffers from a pure feeling of despair. He is just lacking of something, but could never figure what, this drove him deeper and deeper in his own self-made darkness. It could really a drown after too long, but even though it was hard for him at first every day he will try to manage it with special things that are close to his heart. Like his “family”, and what I mean about family is, it’s not only his brother but all the people he met. DREAMS: To try give everyone a smile to enjoy forever, the smile that he, Mugen, tries to achieve each day. To not fall behind of his brother, it’s what brothers do and to safeguard his “family” and his home, always. FEARS: Him, Mugen, falling back into the black pit of despair, letting the people he cared for down and Soul Society being brought down to its knees, defenseless and helpless. .//BATTLE SYSTEMS Specialty: A solid blend of Zanjutsu and Hoho Battle Style: Mugen fights in a broad way so to speak, he uses his swordsmanship to the fullest, and it grows just so strong with one hand he would knock out an enemy’s weapon from their hands. Still, he takes the fighting not a serious matter at all, he has like a calm aura about it, whether the enemy is strong to him or not almost not phased at all there’s only a calm mind in the heat of battle. He likes to have good amount speed in his attacks, because it’s against many foes that have some sort of high-speed. With this mix of speed and power, his win looks almost for certain, but he likes to have some sport or just like to toy with them, it’s very hard to tell which is which for Mugen. He likes to as he says, to change things up a little, not only using his Zanpakutou but using different array of weapons or techniques. He experiments with other battle styles to put it bluntly. He likes to use a bit of unarmed combat, in case he didn’t feel like drawing his sword or if ever lost it at once point. He learned a bit of kido in his life, but didn’t invest too much of it, thought it would the battle too easy to win against his opponent. He also likes to use any new weapons or “toys” he can find. With any weapon he’s unfamiliar with, he possesses a good hand-eye coordination to use these new weapons to the fullest. He truly feels it’ll make the fight more interesting. However, there are two qualities he has that make him more dangerous, it was his acrobatics and endurance. He moves so swiftly and so versatile, it’s almost like with each movement he was just breathing air. He may the best swordsmanship, especially compared to his brother, but he has wide variety of choices left out for him. Zanpakutō: Onishikon (Demon’s Fang) Weapons: None as of yet, just his Zanpakutou Kido List: Hadou: Up to 63 Bakudo: Up to 61 All without incantations .//BACKGROUND Mugen was born as the youngest twin from the noble house of Rengetsu, lower class of noble one at that. He and his brother, Shimo were raised by their mother and the father couldn’t be around for them as he was killed in the line of duty. Mugen wasn’t exactly the super wild man we all knew, he was actually really sky and quiet who stuck close to his mom. Because, his mother seemed so kind and nice, made him feel just safe, however, she was a very sick woman always had to be bed ridden. Mugen was just so concerned for her in those days, but he also gained a special present from her, a silver keepsake medallion. To this day he always treasured it. He entered into the academy, to learn the ways of the Shinigami, to basically make his family proud. He still had his quiet streak throughout all of his time in the academy. As for his focus choice in his time, he kept switching around and around trying to see what fits, but none did. However, only Zanjutsu and Hoho really interested him to the point to get absolutely better with the both of them. He had too because, he wants to catch up with his brother, he somehow always beat him in swordsmanship if only just a little bit. He was earnest and hard-working in his time, but didn’t really have a chance to make friends or be really popular, and he was just a bit withdrawn. Even so, he tries to make friends but it wasn’t long till his graduation came around. When he graduated he was drafted into Squad 8, he still had his withdrawn nature. An odd ball at first in the “party” squad of the Gotei 13, but even though his streak continued, there was a ray of hope that will come soon after. The day when all that changed is when he first spoke with his Zanpkutou spirit, its spirit represented the courage and the full of life attitude that was within Mugen. It took time and much training, but eventually he finally learned the lesson that he can pierce through whatever darkness, pain, and despair that surrounds his heart and all he had to do was leap through. When he did, his Shikai was born and was gifted to him as a result of his courage. It wasn’t too long after he obtained his Shikai that he was suddenly transferred over at the 11th Squad, and the higher-ups for Mugen told him it would be a good experience for him. Both his personality and his knowledge for fighting were slowly changing during his time over in the new squad he was stationed, he learned the true principals and ways of battle. Battle was basically taught privilege to Mugen and he respected that to an extent, and it encouraged him immensely to work harder and harder until he will drop in pure and exhaustion. Many years went on by in his stay in that squad, it was hinted to him that would achieve something greater through all his work, but it was cut short. He had to return to the squad he originally enlisted in, Squad 8. There, he became the man he is today, a real wild child. However, he still remained ever so diligent in his training, and he even achieved what was hinted to him before, he was granted by his Zanpakutou, Bankai. After achieving Bankai, he all excited and eager to train this great gift from his Zanpakutou to its fullest potential. Still, it goes without saying that mastering Bankai takes time, patience, and the will to see it through no matter how much time has passed. He still remained in Squad 8, but didn’t want any higher rank within it for some reason. He wanted to be where he was, an Unseated, and just train and train. His dedication was rewarded greatly as he finally mastered his Bankai. With this Bankai in hand, he thought maybe he could make his mother proud and become a great Captain of Seireitei. He pursued this thought with great anticipation, and he decided to take the approval route. At first he wanted to take the examination, but he wanted to push his luck so to speak. He then requested it to the Soutaichou, and then he had to wait. He waited anxiously, and it’s funny though he didn’t even ask what number to be stationed at. If they did question him now, he would have gone with saying, “Where do you want me? Anywhere is fine.” When they came back to him for the results, they said he was eligible for the Squad 3 Captain. He shocked, and honored at once that he literally got this prestigious rank. He also asked why did he get nominated, and in reply, they said, it wasn’t just his power or prowess he had in battle, it was his heart. It was his dedication and union he brings to everyone he meets, giving great loyalty and potentially valor. It made Mugen easily moved, like who wouldn’t after that. It may be his first on being a great leader, but if they he can do the job, and well Mugen will just give it his best shot. Granted if he doesn’t get himself in trouble first, but if Seireitei or someone else is in help, he’ll gladly step up to the call.
